Tangram Tenjin 2025 for One Fukuoka BLDG.
本作は、「創造交差点」をコンセプトに掲げる ONE FUKUOKA BUILDING のために制作された、タングラムを建築的な空間へと拡張したインスタレーションです。 モビールとして吊るされた各ピースは、風や人の動きによって絶えず揺れ動きます。横から見ると断片の集合体にすぎませんが、ある一点に立ったときだけ、それらはひとつの正方形を描き出します。四角形がぴたりと揃う瞬間 は偶然にしか訪れず、それは出会った人だけに開かれる一期一会の体験です。 色彩は福岡にゆかりのあるものから着想を得ました。白黒ストライプは博多織を、緑と朱色は太宰府天満宮の御本殿を、青は博多湾を象徴しています。そして黄色は、天神の夜を彩る屋台やネオンの光を表し、この街の活気と新しい創造のエネルギーを映し出しています。 パースペクティブ、奥行き、そして時間を重ね合わせることで、このタングラムは天神という街の姿を映し出します。個と全体、秩序と多様性が交差する場所。Tangram Tenjin 2025 は、不完全でありながら常に新しい形を生み出す「創造交差点」の精神を体現しています。
This work was created for ONE FUKUOKA BUILDING under the concept of “Creative Intersection”, expanding the traditional tangram into an architectural installation.
Suspended as a mobile, each piece sways constantly with the movement of air and people. From the side, it appears only as a collection of fragments, but from a single vantage point, they come together to form a perfect square. The moment of alignment occurs only by chance, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience to those who encounter it.
The color scheme draws inspiration from Fukuoka. The black-and-white stripes reference Hakata-ori textiles, the green and vermilion evoke the main shrine of Dazaifu Tenmangū, and the blue symbolizes Hakata Bay. Yellow represents the neon lights and food stalls of Tenjin’s nightlife, reflecting the city’s vibrancy and spirit of creation.
By layering perspective, depth, and time, the tangram mirrors the very character of Tenjin—where individuality and community, order and diversity intersect. Tangram Tenjin 2025 embodies the spirit of the Creative Intersection: incomplete yet ever generating new forms.
